1st birthday celebrations

So we have been busy planning Georgia's 1st birthday, I have no idea where this last year has gone. I have been planning and daydreaming about this party for months. Nothing too fancy, a morning tea with friends to celebrate our littlest girls first year. So I decided to go with a bit of a vintage butterfly theme. I was a bit slack when it came to making your outfit, so I ordered one of Etsy from America, I'm so glad I did, it is a bit cute. I made a photo board in the shape of a 1, with photos of you from the past year. A hard job trying to pick just a few favourites. We had some decorations, some pink pom poms and vintage style doily bunting, with lots of little fondant butterfly's.
Now for the important part the food... with us all still on a refined sugar free diet, I was on a mission to make healthy and refined sugar free food, that everybody would love. Except for the cake and some of the cupcakes.... mmm but they were yum too, if not a little too sweet for daddy and I.
So we had almond and raspberry cupcakes, raw chocolate brownie balls, popcorn, chicken sandwiches, fruit kebabs, homemade sausage rolls, raw strawberry cake pops (delicious).
Party started at 10.30, so just enough time for you Georgia, to have a little nap. You had a great time, you took it all in really well, considering we had quite a few people to help celebrate. You spent a lot of time on the swing, just taking it all in. You didn't cry once and went from person to person, not being shy. You were walking around with an occasional stumble and then hop back up and carry on. Emily looked after you and also had a ball playing with all her friends. Most of the kiddies were all spending a lot of time at the food table, especially eating all the cupcakes and pop corn. We played pass the parcel, a lot of time was spent bouncing on the trampoline, burning off some energy. It was fairly hot, so daddy had the water demisters going and was making sure everyone had plenty of water.
Then it was time to cut the cake, we all sang happy birthday and you actually tried to blow out the candle, I was really surprised. It must of been from when Emily and I made you a cake on your actual birthday and she taught you how to blow the candle out.
Not long after it was time for everyone to leave with a party bag of some Easter eggs and home made play dough. (made by daddy in the new thermomix)
You were thoroughly spoilt with presents, which we all opened together after a big sleep in the afternoon, from such a busy morning. Actually Emily, Georgia and I slept for 3 hours, while daddy cleaned everything away. He's the best.
Then that's it over for another year.....

First day of school..... ever

Well today you started School, its the 3 year old program and it goes for 2 hours a day, once a week. I dont' care how you put it, it's still school. You are away from me and in a class room and you have a teacher, Mrs K.
So you were awake early today and excited is an understatement, you loved your little t-shirt with your elephant on it. We took lots of photos, where you pulled lots of funny faces. At the moment when I get the camera out, you love to pull a face and then come running to see what it looks like. We were ready early, so off we went. We were almost the first there, you were so chatty, saying hi to everyone and telling them your name. I was so proud of you. All the parents were allowed to stay and do a puzzle or play a game with, until you felt ready for us to leave. Not you Emily Jane, you were off and with a wave for Georgia and I. I actually asked if I was allowed to go!

Not sure what to do with myself when we got home, I played with your photos and had a coffee, I missed you not having your baby cino with me. Georgia slept the whole time..... the house was quiet!!

When we picked you up you were so excited, you had painting's, beaded necklace, a band aid from where you fell over. It felt strange not being able to be the one to put the bandaid on and kiss it better. Anyway you had an absolute ball, you couldn't stop talking about it all day. You fell into bed exhausted with sweet dreams.

I don't know why I was so worried, I knew you would love it.

3yr old Eve

Well I'm sitting here wondering if I have remembered everything for tomorrow morning. Tomorrow you start 3 yr olds, we have all been a little excited around the house this past week. You keep assuring me you can go, as you can now go to the toilet all on your own, really without an audience is what you mean! For the last month Georgia and I have always had to go along with you. This morning we went to playgroup and then after we walked past your class room to see where you would be going. When we got home you wore you school bag around the house for at least an hour or so. We have put your name on everything, using stickers that you picked out, they are pink with little elephants on them. Elephants are your favourite at the moment, so much so that I have appliqued an elephant onto your t shirt as a surprise for you, for school tomorrow.
You couldn't fall asleep tonight, your daddy had to lay with you in your big bed until you fell asleep. I have butterfly's for you, I wish I could be a fly on the wall to watch you and to see how you go on in the world without me, how you will make new friends without my guidance, how you will deal with indifference's in the playground, without me there to help. Your relationship that you will have with your teacher,  which will be one of many on your school journey. I can only pray that it is a beautiful one and that it will be a positive experience that will help shape your future education.
This will be the first time you have been with out myself or your dad or your pa and ga. I cant help but be a little sad. Where as you are so excited and so eager to go and learn new things, I cant wait for tomorrow morning to take you, I'm not really sure I will sleep a wink tonight.
I promise I will be brave and try not to cry, my little one.

January

Well I cant believe that January is over already. We have had a crazy start to the year. We spent Christmas in Exmouth with Pa and Ga, came home for new years, then the girls and I flew to Perth, Ryan joined us a few days later. We went to Wendy and Tony's wedding, with Georgia. Ryan flew home, we stayed on, went to Dunsborough for a week to visit Jas. Stayed an extra few days with Ga and Pa and then flew home to Tom Price. Where we still haven't stopped, I have sixteen horses on order that I am trying to sew. We have painted the girls room and moved them in to the back room, so that I have a sewing room. Trying to get our vegie gardens up and running...... its just go go go.
We are loving our time here as a family and just enjoying living in the moment.

Georgia you will be 11 months this month, who knows where all that time has gone. You are just starting to try and walk, anything you can push around you do, slowly toddling behind. I don't think it will be long, till you are taking those first steps on your own. For Christmas you received a little car and it is one of your favourite things at the moment. Emily loves to push you around the house and you squeal with delight. You are starting to say a few more words, Bon Bon, Ta which sounds more like Ba, you love to hand things to us, when we say Ta. You love to give kisses, big sloppy ones and you always have a huge smile for us all. Sleeping is still not your favourite thing, but we are getting there slowly. You have just cut your 8th tooth and sadly every time you do, you seem to get croup. Which is horrible to see, but still you always smile for me and love big cuddles.

Emily you will be 40 months this month, you are becoming quite a big girl. Just before we went to Perth you told me you didn't want to wear nap naps to bed anymore just knick knicks. As well as giving up your bot bot and just having a cup of milk before bed. Well to say your Dad and I were shocked is an understatement. We had been trying to get you to give up your bottle for months, but you wouldn't budge. You would get so upset that we would just let you carry on and then you did it, all on your own, we are so proud.
While we were away you loved being at your Ga and Pa's and would always snuggle up with your Pa on the couch before bed and share his yoghurt. You would run and tell him that he had to have a cold shower as you had used all the hot water, when he got home from work and then run away giggling.
You start three year olds, next month which is just two hours once a week and you are so excited, I am going to be a little sad, but only for the thought that you are growing up so quickly, I am so excited for you and I promise to be brave on the day.

Well more than a month has gone by, naughty me. Life has been so busy around here, I just don't know where the time has gone. Daddy and I have been taking lots of photos to make sure we capture everything. Christmas is getting closer only 12 days to go. Our tree has been up for well over a month already we have been doing some Christmas crafts together, we still have a few more to do, plus some baking to take to Exmouth. I forgot to mention we are off to exmouth for Christmas. We are all very excited and will be sure to share lots of photos.

fun in the sun

One day this week, we just decided to not do a lot but enjoy the gorgeous weather while it wasn't too hot, by having a lazy afternoon in the sun, in our backyard. The girls had a splash in there pool, daddy did some gardening, mummy watched. We all lay on the trampoline together and bounced and had snacks, we laughed together, Emily chased the chickens, Georgia watched the chickens, Daddy pretended to be superman.... it was just such a nice way to spend our time together as a family.
I managed to capture some of our afternoon in pictures.

Santa comes to TP

Today we went to visit Santa, it is the first year that Emily hasn't been scared of the jolly red man! In fact she woke up nice and early this morning and climbed in to my bed for a cuddle and the first thing she asked was "Is it Christmas day today, are we going to see Santa?" No sorry its not quite Christmas yet, but yes we are definitely off to visit Santa.
Daddy had just come off nights and he didn't want to miss out on our outing, so we all got dressed up ready for our snaps and went off early to the markets, hoping to avoid the queue. We weren't quite early enough to see him arrive in the fire truck... Pilbara style. So we went straight to Santa's grotto to wait our turn to meet him. Emily was a little nervous at first, but quite happily hopped onto his knee to tell him what she wanted for Christmas.... a little dolls house! Little Miss Georgia was quite happy until she turned into the big white beard and then no amount of bribery worked to get a smile out of her, it was tears all the way. We were very proud of the girls, Emily as it was her very first photo we have of her with Santa and Georgia because even though we had some tears, she was still happy enough to sit for a few quick photos.
I'm looking forward to seeing the professional pics, but here is one that Daddy managed to snap on his phone.
